About Us
The Department of Master of Computer Application, at Oriental Institute of Science & Technology, Bhopal was formed in the year 1999 and provides an outstanding research environment complemented by excellence in teaching.
This Post Graduate Degree Program includes coursework in Information technology, Operating Systems, Computer Organisation & Architecture, various languages (C, Computer Graphics using C++, JAVA etc.), Database Management Systems, Data Structure, Software Engineering, Formal Language & Automata Theory, Unix, Dot Net Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Information Storage & Management, Cloud Computing etc.
To impart the knowledge of reasoning, analytical ability for various competitive examinations the course includes subjects as Mathematical Foundation of Computer Science, Computer Oriented & Optimization Techniques, Computer oriented Numerical Analysis etc.
For overall development of students, subjects such as Professional Communication in English, Oral and Written Communication, , Interview Preparation and Group Discussion etc. are taken up by trained faculty .This overall combination of subjects gives them sound and excellent background for any competitive environment. This also provides them with increase opportunity in Institute’s Campus Placement.
Alumni Interaction
Alumni interaction meet was organized by Department of MCA on Saturday, 15/02/2020.
Our alumni Mr. Tarun Gurjar of batch 2008-11 shared his views about Professionalism in the field, as he is working in Map It Bhopal as Senior Software Engineer.
He emphasized on use of technical knowledge, hard and smart work, and work ethics. He interacted with the students and gave tips for placement interview. He introduced the students about various skills that students has to enhance. He also insisted students to prepare regularly towards the placement from Ist year onwards.
Students also interacted with the alumni by asking questions and clearing doubts in question hour session.
Python Workshop (MCA)
Hands-On workshop on PYTHON
To enlighten the students about basics of Python, Department of MCA, Oriental Institute of Science & Technology, Bhopal, organized Hands-On workshop on PYTHON" with expert Mr. Shiladitya Raj from Saksham Digital Technologies, Bhopal on 24th & 25th January, 2020.
The main focus of the workshop was to impart practical knowledge of Python.
Workshop was attended by the students of MCA IInd & IVth Semester and they found it quite interesting and informative.
