About Us

Civil Engineering department started functioning from the year 2009, with an intake of 60 students. Present intake is 90 at UG level. The department also offers a PG program in Construction Technology and Management from the year 2013 with an intake of 18 students. Present intake of PG program is 24.

Experience and qualified faculties having expertise in different civil engineering fields, facilities as per the requirements of the course curriculum of the affiliating University are the features of the department.

The department organizes different activities like expert lectures, field visits, seminars and group discussions for overall development of students.

Department aspires to become a centre of excellence by bringing out graduates with high technical competency, who will promote contemporary research in the most ethical ways to meet the current and future challenges of civil engineering.

MISSION
  • M1: To provide an overall environment to the students suitable for moulding them to pursue a successful career in industry and research, and to encourage them for higher education.
  • M2: To inculcate ethical and moral values amongst its students so as to transform them as socially responsible engineers.
  • M3: To produce well qualified and talented engineers by acquainting them with contemporary and latest advances in civil engineering techniques and technologies so as to prepare them to be competent infrastructural engineers.
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
  • PEO1 :
    To prepare graduates with better comprehension of the basic concepts of mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals essential to develop problem solving skills and also able to address diverse professional and societal needs of industry, academia and research.
  • PEO2:
    To train students to better understand the diverse noted development and fabricating technologies which shall be able to provide solution frameworks to real world problems considering the issues of social relevance.
  • PEO3:
    To impart the graduate students, the ability to gain multidisciplinary knowledge through expert lectures, working models, live demonstration and site visits, providing a sustainable competitive edge in R&D and meeting industry needs and also to inculcate in them importance of self- learning, leadership qualities leading to technological innovation and entrepreneurship.
PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSO)
  • PSO1:
    Graduates will have an ability to identify, describe, analyze, and solve problems using mathematics, systematic problem-solving techniques and comprehensive knowledge in all domains of civil engineering to obtain optimal solutions in planning, designing and execution of complex civil engineering problems.
  • PSO2:
    Graduates will have an ability to interact with stake holders and society to understand and design a system or process to meet the desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, ethical, health, safety and sustainability.
  • PSO3:
    Graduates will have an ability to understand and develop a new system which uses renewable, green and other modern technology to meet prevailing trends for benefit of the society.
  • PSO4:
    Graduates will develop an ability to use prevailing tools, means, software, platform, and scenario for searching innovative and creative initiatives to become an entrepreneur and impart as a resourceful component in infrastructure development process.

Fully furnished laboratories related to Highway Engineering & Material Testing, Engineering Geology, Geo Technical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Fluid Mechanics and Strength of Materials.

Fully fledged Computer Aided Design lab, spacious drawing and furnished seminar halls are the other facilities of the department.

    CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY & MANAGEMENT

  • Candidates should be graduate in Engg./ Technology with minimum 50% marks.

  • DESCRIPTION

During the graduation in civil engineering the course is mainly focused on various technical phases with some part of management content. Today, construction industry needs the Techno-Managers who handle the entire project successfully, efficiently and within the scheduled time. Here the post graduation course in Construction Technology & Management is providing the advance knowledge of civil engineering with the management and finance related subjects. Course in CTM aims to build up the students to understand the growth potential in the management of Infrastructure sector by covering the life cycle view of projects and management of Infrastructure systems efficiently using appropriate tools and techniques.

    CIVIL ENGINEERING

    Eligibility :

    The admissions in Engineering or the B. Tech. course are done on the basis of candidates’ score in the JEE Main exam which is conducted at All India Level. The exam was introduced in the year of 2013 under the “One-Nation-One-Test” norm of HRD Ministry.
