About Us

Department of Mechanical Engineering prepares students for positions that require skillful and imaginative solutions to solve engineering problems in their specializations. Department has excellent infrastructure facilities with the latest trends. It has well equipped state-of-the-art laboratories that cater to the needs of the students.

The department has well experienced faculty and staff members of proven abilities and administrative skills. The entire faculty possess minimum post graduate in different disciplines of Mechanical Engineering. Few faculties are pursuing Doctoral Programmes. Department helps the faculties by providing IIT sponsored workshops and other quality improvement programs.

To impart practical knowledge department organizes Industrial Toursfor the students for every semester. These tours provide the first hand understanding of working of industries and help students in to become better engineers.In addition to theory classes, we also arrange guest lectures by the experts from an industry& academia to through light on latest trends in the fields Mechanical Engineering. Students in the Department are also provided with good computational knowledge and exposed to mechanical engineering software.

Department helps students to translate newer ideas in to reality by preparing range of projects in the Mechanical Engineering Work-shop. Project making helps in understanding the subject and develops confidence in the students. We also motivate our students for presenting papers in national/ international conferences, seminars, symposium etc.

The result of International Gokart Championship {IGC 2018} organized by SAE & LPU held at Lovely Professional University, Jalandar, Punjab from 22 to 26 March 2018 was declared and OIST team won the championship, with prize amount of Rs.1,20,000/-. They have been winning this championship continuously from last three years.Another team from OCT secured third position in this championship and won Rs.60,000/- . Congratulations to both the teams that performed very well and the Oriental family is proud of them!

The result of *National Gokart racing championship NGRC and International F9 Gokart championship 2018* organized by *koshi motors* and *immortals* at RKDF University, Bhopal from 10 to 13 September 2018 was declared and *OCT team (VALOR)* has won the *overall Championship* with prize amount of Rs 1,10,000/-. They were the winners in the last International event also. Another team from OIST won best team sprite award of Rs 5000/-. Congratulations to both the team that performed very well and the *Oriental family* is proud of them

Deepak Singh Gour (ME-6 th SEM) Winner of Mr IFML 2018(india fashion &model league 12th August-2018) this contest orgainsed by navinwadia production in goa (lasolas) in august. In this contest no. Of participant is 20 all over the India.

Rajneesh Singh (ME-6 th SEM Students) standing Second winner in the Essay Writing Competition was held in Mahar Regiment Center (07/10/2018). The topic was to write on the biography of Late General KV Krishna Rao.

Anupama Sarathe, student of Oriental College of Technology, Mechanical Branch, and third year has been an NCC Cadet and has been bringing laurels to the institution by her unwavering hard work in NCC. She was selected for the All India Vayu Sainik Camp 2018 (AIVSC) held at Jodhpur, Rajasthan from 23rd October to 4th November 2018 and got a chance to represent Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh Directorate. She also got a chance to experience a 45 minute AVRO activity, aircraft of Indian Air Force at the Jodhpur Air Force Station.

Recently, she also participated in State Level Republic Day Parade as a Right Marker, held at Lal Parade Ground. Being a part of the Winning Contingent of 2 MP AIR SQUADRON NCC, she proudly received the Rolling Trophy from the Group Commander, NCC BHOPAL, at the NCC Headquarters.

Anurag Singh, student of Oriental College of Technology, Mechanical Engineering Branch, 6th semester, has taken upon the future of Engineering with the state of art electric bike which is tailored to cut through Indian traffic and riding conditions with zero emissions. Anurag and his team has been incubated at India's best Atal Innovation Centre AIC-AARTECH under the brand name of AMEM MOTORS, founded by Anurag himself. He, along with the team, has designed, developed and assembled an automated guided vehicle (AGV) for a renowned German company. To give a motivating outlook regarding starting up the career in the same field, he has conducted a session product building, team formation and motivation to a start-up organized by the Mechanical department of MANIT at MANIT incubation centre. He has also been founding member and Vice Captain of the college SAE Go-kart team named as VALOR and has won many prizes through his racing skills.
