STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS RGPV Results have been exemplary for some years as all the branches have top CGPA scorers (8-9), Gold and silver medal have been awarded to two students of Mechanical Engineering for the course of M.Tech in the year 2013.
Vice Chancellor’s Gold and silver medal have been awarded to two students of Information Technology in the Final year of BE 2011while VC scholarship was awarded to 4 students of the same branch in the year 2012.
The First year results show more than 100 students with a CGPA 8 or more than 8 this year, with 3 students that figure in the merit list of University. 8 Students of First year, in 12th standard were given a scholarship of Rs 25000 by Chief Minister Govt. of MP for good results under ‘Student Encouragement Scheme’.
In Competitive scenario this year, the GATE and CAT scorers : In CSE 10 and 16,in ME 80 and 16, in EX 17 and 4,in IT 5 and 3 respectively. Students of Final year in EC Department appeared in GATE this year, from which 28 students qualified with the best rank of AIR-823. 32 students qualified out of which highest rank is AIR-997.
Similarly last year, 40 students qualified CAT Exam, and this year 2014, 30 students qualified out of which best score is 96%ile In Computer Science, 100 students were placed in Multi National Firms and Defence forces, in Mechanical Branch.
175 students were placed in firms of top order, and 30 students were suitably placed from Information Technology, this year. Every year, a number of students get well placed from all departments.
Out of 60 students in EC, 8 students got placed in BHEL, and BEL, and NAVY and one student got selected in Indian Army, this year. Special mention
Mr. Rahul Mathur of IT-final year was given an opportunity to go to Pune for Walt-Disney gaming and he completed his internship, this year. Two students of Computer Science have authored two books on computers.
The Automobile Department has established SAE India Collegiate Club and presently there are 126 students members belonging to AU, ME and EX departments. The members participated in Baja SAE India 2014, Formula SAEINDIA Design Challenge 2013 and 4 workshops of SAE India. The students get opportunities to show their skills in various competitions organized by SAE.
A team of 25 student of Automobile Engineering participated in SAEINDIA BAJA-2014, organized by SAE INDIA. It was an Asia level event. The event consisted of four stages which included – design, presentation, fabrication and competing in the race. In the first phase there were 190 teams of various engineering colleges of India and in the final stage 120 teams were found eligible for participation. The OIST team “Enigma 5T” cleared the first three stages and participated in the final event held in Pithampur, Indore during 18-23 February 2014.
In a National level Go Cart competition, held at Kolhapur Maharashtra this year, the Mechanical students, won prize money of Rs.30000, as runner up team.
A student of Computer Science has developed an app using which one can control laptops using mobile phone.
