Oriental month long massive TB Awareness Drive of Oriental Group of Institutes, Bhopal concludes and reaches Raj Bhavan

The month long TB Awareness drive of Oriental that initiated on 24 May 2018 reached Bhopal today, after covering 4000 km, more than 100 towns and villages and addressing around 18,000 people.

The 50 member team delegates and coordinators met the Governor and apprised her of the massive tour that had derived inspiration from her words when she had invoked the students to adopt and serve TB patients, in a program held at campus in April.

The drive is just a part of the campaign that would resume further to cover remaining areas of M.P. 

Initially, four phases of the tour covered Jabalpur, Gwalior, Neemuch, Singhrauli and the adjoining areas.

During the drive, many people were involved from all sections of the society, doctors and counsellors from Bhopal and district hospitals, public representatives, village youth and senior citizens, so as to create awareness among common man.

General awareness on tuberculosis disease was created with audio visual films, pamplets counselling and general checkups.

Patients were advised to go for government assisted TB treatment centres than approaching quacks for medication.

On this occasion, Hon'ble Chairman Shri Praveen Thakral along with CEO Mr. Rajesh Kumar Sahani presented a detailed report on the TB Awareness Campaign to Her Excellency, while the Directors, Faculties and Campaign Team members were part of the delegation visiting Rajabhavan today. A live display of the Campaign Vehicle was also given, which includes audio visual content, pamplets, counselling and general checkup etc. Madam Governor expressed her pleasure and appreciation to the Oriental Group for this thoughtful and unique initiative towards a social cause.
