OCT organizes a workshop on “Remedial measures for ground water Related issues and management in M.P”.

Remedial measures for ground water Related issues and management in Madhya Pradesh" under Kal Kranti abhiyan on 23 February 2017.

Central ground water board CGWB, Ministry of Water, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation is organizing a regional workshop.  The Workshop was attended by the students of Civil Vl semester under the Guidance of Prof. Manish Sharma, Assistant Prof. Vasundhara Dubey.

The prime objective of the workshop is to facilitate the effective sharing of scientific knowledge and use of latest technological instrumentation and methodology in field of ground water exploration, development and management.


241 OIST Bhopal organizes workshop on C++ yes

An Online Workshop was organized by Department of Computer Science & Engineering, OIST Bhopal, on 28/08/2016 on “C++” by using SOLOLEARN LEARN PLAYING.PLAY LEARNING Portal (http://www.sololearn.com/) in HP Lab II. The lecture was attended by students of III Semester of Computer Science & Engineering Department. 

The Portal consists of 10 Main Courses, 856 Lessons, 552 Video Lectures and 2526 Quizzes on different latest technological tools, used for developing websites and software. Workshop gave insight to students in C++ which included over 80 lessons that covered basic concepts, data types, arrays, pointers, conditional statements, loops, functions, classes, and objects. The Workshop also consisted of 10 different modules, and 343 Quizzes where the students were asked to unlock new levels, take quizzes, collect points, and compete with peers from around the world.

339 Industrial Visit by Mechanical OIST Bhopal students yes
Department of Mechanical Engineering OIST, Bhopal organized a one-day industrial visit to TAFE Motors  and Tractors Limited, Mandideep, for 8th semester students on 21 February 2017, under the supervision of Mr. R.K. Srivastava (AGM), Prof. Nagesh Dwivedi, and Prof. Rajeev Saxena. Students visited various units of the plant like Manufacturing unit, Testing unit and Assembly line.

 Mr. Srivastava explained the various latest technologies used in tractors, different important components, various services, maintenance procedures and techniques used in the tractors. This visit was quite useful for the students who are planning to pursue their career in Automobile sector.



242 Workshop on Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) by OIST Bhopal yes
An Online Workshop was organized by Department of Computer Science & Engineering, OIST Bhopal on 28August, 2016 on“Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)” by using SOLOLEARN LEARN PLAYING. PLAY LEARNING Portal (http://www.sololearn.com/) in HP Lab II. The lecture was attended by students of V Semester of Computer Science & Engineering Department. 

The Portal consists of 10 Main Courses, 856 Lessons, 552 Video Lectures and 2526 Quizzes on different latest technological tools, used for developing websites and software. Workshop gave knowledge to students as to how to set and control the style and layout of a website. The Workshop consisted of different modules, Lessons and Quizzes. 

In ensuing days, the Department has also decided to organize such workshop on latest technology and tools, so that students get equipped with recent dynamic and vibrant technologies. Oriental Institute of Science & Technology Bhopal always looks forward for such informative sessions, that are beneficial for the students.
243 Workshop on Industrial Hydraulics organized by OIST Bhopal yes
In order to instill core technical competency of ‘Hydraulic Control Systems’ in Engineering students through informal educational techniques and to prepare them for field problems, a one day workshop on “Industrial Hydraulics” was organized on 29th August, 2016 by the Department of Automobile & Mechanical Engineering, Oriental Institute of Science & Technology, Bhopal. 

Mr. Tajindar Bedi and his team members from CRISP, Bhopal elaborated the functioning of basic parts and the working principles of hydraulic control systems through trainer kits. Mr Bedi also explained that these control systems are an integral part of various industrial applications like press shop, hydraulic turbines, dams, material handling etc. Students had experiential learning through hands-on-experience by simulating various control circuits. 

Director, Dr V K Sahu appreciated the experts from CRISP, Bhopal and stressed that such workshops are quite useful to enhance the technical skills of students. Hon’ble Chairman, OIST, Shri Praveen Thakral also emphasized that organizing such workshops will be a right step towards fulfillment of “Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana”.

330 Participation of the OIST students in SAE-BAJA’2017 at Pitampur, Indore yes

A team from Oriental Institute of Science and Technology, Bhopal is all set to participate in SAE-BAJA (BAHA) 2017, competition to be held at Pitampur, Indore. A team of 25 students has been toiling hard for last six months to get the vehicle ready. It is for the 7th consecutive time that the team from Oriental is participating in the event under the name “Enigma 7T”.

For this competition, the students have designed their own gear box and to reduce the weight of the vehicle they have used aluminum alloy. After all these customizations the vehicle cost has came up to Rs 5, 80,000.

These efforts of the faculty and students have been highly appreciated by the Chairman of the Group, Shri Praveen Thakral.

245 OIST students visit Sterlite Power, Bhopal yes
Students of VII semester of Electrical & Electronics Branch, Oriental Institute of Science & Technology, Bhopal visited 765kV Substation installed by Sterlite Power, near Berasiaya road, Bhopal on 5 September, 2016. 

The substation of such a high rating of 765kV, is the only substation in the Central India. During the visit, students got exposure of extra high voltage equipments in the live working conditions.
