Resource person from University of Malaysia delivers lecture at Oriental Bhopal 04-03-2015

An expert lecture and workshop was organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication, at Oriental Institute of Science and Technology, Bhopal, on 4 March, 2015.

The event MSPES-2015, a conclave on Microwave, Signal Processing and Embedded Systems, focused mainly on the expert lecture delivered by Dr Mohd.Fareq Abd Malek, on Microwave absorbers, developed from agricultural wastes. In the lecture, he discussed the design, which includes shielded anechoic chambers that are used to provide radio frequency isolated test regions, to simulate a free space environment, for measuring antennas.

Dr Fareq Dean, School of Electrical Engineering at University of Malaysia, Perlis (UNIMAP), has more than 257 publications to his credit. He has been awarded by Network Academy of Science, Malaysia as young scientist. Further, he has received a grant of 3 lac US Dollars from University of Malaysia, for producing Microwave absorbers, on commercial basis.

The speaker was given a floral welcome by the Chairman Oriental Group, Shri Praveen Thakral and was presented a memento by the Director OIST, Dr VK Sahu as a token of remembrance. The lecture rounded off with a vote of thanks proposed by Head Electronics Department, Prof.Mohd. Ahmed.
