At Oriental Institute of Science and Technology, Bhopal, a classical dance performance was done on 30 September, 2016, by Ms Kavita Dviwedi, in the auditorium, which was flooded by the audience. The artist was invited by the SPIC MACAY.
Ms Kavita is an International fame dancer who has performed at various festivals in and outside the country. At the 50th anniversary celebration of India’s freedom, she performed in Countries like England, America, and Australia and so on.
Before starting her act, Ms. Kavita addressed the audience and informed them about the dance form. She told that this is the form which has evolved from the Jagannath Puri Temple of Orissa in the 2nd century. Where devdasis danced in front of Lord Jagannth and this was also the way of worshipping him. This dance form is based on Natya Shastra.
Every one enjoyed the performance a lot and the auditorium was filled with thunderous applause. Chairman, Oriental Group of Institutes, Shri Praveen Thakral welcomed all the guests and then after Saraswati Vandana and lighting of the lamp, Ms Kavita ignited the ambience by her heart touching performance.
The program was anchored by Chief Administrative Officer of the Group, who at the end thanked all the guests, for their spell bound presence.
