In order to instill core technical competency of ‘Hydraulic Control Systems’ in Engineering students through informal educational techniques and to prepare them for field problems, a one day workshop on “Industrial Hydraulics” was organized on 29th August, 2016 by the Department of Automobile & Mechanical Engineering, Oriental Institute of Science & Technology, Bhopal.
Mr. Tajindar Bedi and his team members from CRISP, Bhopal elaborated the functioning of basic parts and the working principles of hydraulic control systems through trainer kits. Mr Bedi also explained that these control systems are an integral part of various industrial applications like press shop, hydraulic turbines, dams, material handling etc. Students had experiential learning through hands-on-experience by simulating various control circuits.
Director, Dr V K Sahu appreciated the experts from CRISP, Bhopal and stressed that such workshops are quite useful to enhance the technical skills of students. Hon’ble Chairman, OIST, Shri Praveen Thakral also emphasized that organizing such workshops will be a right step towards fulfillment of “Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana”.
