National Techno Cultural Sport event TechAcme’2015 inaugurated at OIST, Bhopal

Oriental Institute of Science & Technology is all set for Techacme, with the inaugural ceremony of the 4- day National techno cultural, sports event, held on 16 October, 2015. The event started with the Saraswati Vandana and the traditional lighting of the lamp. The Chief guest, Mr. Makrand Deoskar, DIG, Intelligence, L. Gopal Krishnan, GM Quality, BHEL, Bhopal and Ms. Paridhi Saxena, Delivery Partner & Group Lead, NGM India graced the occasion with their benign presence. Chairman, Oriental Group, Shri Praveen Thakral, Director OIST, Dr. V K Sahu and Principal OIST Prof. N K Mittal, gave a cordial welcome to the guests. 

The Chief guest motivated the students to perform well and contribute to the growth and development of the Nation. Ms. Paridhi Saxena, appreciated the program and suggested the students to focus on quality education. Shri L. Gopal Krishnan, GM Quality, BHEL, Bhopal focused on the importance of time management in life. The guests of honor talked about the role of Co-Curricular activities and grooming in day to day life.

 On the first day, the Institute witnessed many events like 50 rupee venture, Scavenger Hunt, Automotive Canvas, Lan Gaming, Apti Quiz, Art Junkies, Rangoli, Face Painting and Talent Starlight. The Sports activities comprised 10-10 Cricket, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Badminton and Foot Ball. 

Approximately 6000 students from Madhya Pradesh and other states have already registered for the various events and the participants have exhibited with full enthusiasm. In cricket 60 teams had head to head competition, Football brought 40 teams together while Basketball had 30 teams. Apart from this, there are 400 entries in LAN Gaming, 300 entries in Talent StarLight, 100 models in Model presentation and in Art Junkies around 100 participants showcased their art.

In upcoming days, more events like Circuit Design, En Craft, Paper Presentation, Robotics, Assemble Dessemble, Bug Fix etc. will be conducted. Not only this there will be a workshop on Cloud Computing & Big Data.
