OIST bags First prize in prestigious International Go-kart Championship-2017


Oriental institute of Science and Technology, Bhopal bags first position and prize money of about Rs.1,55,000 in International Go-kart Championship-2017 which was organized by Lovely Professional University , Jalandhar, Punjab . The Institute has become an overall champion in the competition.

In this competition  around 70 teams from all over the India including teams from IITs and NITs participated and gave tough fight to each other in the event. The team VIJYANT of OIST, Bhopal remained unbeaten. Furthermore, the team VIJYANT also won the Best Quality Award, Best Business Award, Acceleration award, Endurance Award and emerged as  overall champions.

Advisors of the team, Prof. Abhishek Choubey and Prof. K. K. Tiwari apprised that the team of 20 dedicated students   from Mechanical and Automobile stream, through incessant efforts, could gain  victory over other contestants.

Prateek  Rai was the captain and Shivam Dangi was the Sub- Captain of the team. Md. Jameel supported and helped the students while preparing vehicle.  Lakshy Shrivastav, Sumit singh, Kshitij Bachaniya, Ashish Saini, Amir Zubair, Ketan Karki, Jitish singh, `Yogesh Raikawar, Shubham Jain etc. are the team members.

OIST, Bhopal had secured second position in year 2016. The Institute has achieved recognition for Go-karting completions all over the country. The vehicle with 98 kg weight and 135 cc engine capacity, can achieve maximum speed of 80 km/hr.  Chairman Shri Praveen Thakral and Dean Academics of the Institute Dr. Kavita Burse has  congratulated the team for their spectacular  achievement.
